About Us
Founded in 1936 by Mr. Ho Yew Ping, a migrant from the Guangdong Shunde province of China, On Cheong jewellery began as a humble goldsmith shop. Over years, it has achieved a reputation for being a purveyor of unique jewellery designs and expert craftsmanship. Today, the name “On Cheong Jewellery” brings to mind contemporary jewellery for both men and women.
Specializing in gold (yellow and white), diamonds, pearls(cultured and south sea) and gem-set designs, On Cheong offers an extensive array of custom and ready-made jewellery, covering a diverse range; from traditionally Asian creations to western-styled pieces. The On Cheong collection of jade jewellery is reputed to one of the most complete and exquisite in Singapore.
After undergoing rebranding in 2007, On Cheong was repositioned as a one-stop jewellery shop with great variety of products, and a heritage brand with commitment to build relationships with customers. Its commitment to customer service had achieved industry's recognition when On Cheong became the first jeweller to receive an award in the Quality Jewellers of Singapore Scheme (QJS) in 2004 and the Singapore Service Star Award in 2008.
In 2006 and 2008, On Cheong was honoured with the Singapore Prestige Brand Award (Heritage Brand Award). On Cheong’s management values the relationship of In April 2012, On Cheong Jewellery was awarded "TAFEP Exemplary Employer Award 2012" and "Outstanding Workplace for Mature Employees" for its fair, responsible and employment practices in their workplaces. -
